workbook acclaimed by novices and experts alike. Indeed, during her 37 years as
a professional psychic, there is very little that Annette Martin has not done,
thus giving her the versatility for which she is now so recognized.

How it started
“At
the tender age of seven a wonderful and unusual new world began.
While playing with a group of friends, I had a sudden vision in which my
playmate would turn on me with intent to kill.
Ten minutes later that vision became a reality.”
Annette
Martin first discovered her psychic abilities at age seven when she had a
premonition about being hurt by a group of playmates.
This premonition came true and was followed several weeks later by a
stunningly accurate diagnosis of a family friend's infected toe.
It was at this time, Martin writes, "that I began to see and
experience a mysterious and magical world filled with colorful large pictures
... and strange whooshing sounds that lived within people's bodies."
Though
these psychic experiences continued through her childhood and even met with a
positive reception from family members - due perhaps to having an aunt and
grandmother who were already considered psychic-she gave no thought to someday
ever becoming a professional psychic. She
possessed a remarkable singing voice which, along with a dramatic flair, led her
into an early operatic and musical comedy career. At age 14 she found herself appearing on a weekly television
show, The Del Courtney Show.
By 17 she was singing with the Sacramento Music Circus and the San
Francisco Civic Light Opera Company. Numerous
lead roles in operas and musical comedies around the
world followed during her '20s. Her
operatic career culminated with roles in La
Boheme and Manon Lescout in Mexico
City, where she became the first North American in 25 years to perform with the
Mexico City National Opera.
It
was not until 1970-not until hearing the words "now is the time" while
stepping off a plane in Hong Kong (where she was to live for a short period with
her husband)-that Martin began her psychic career.
Requests for psychic readings began coming in a week after her arrival
there-mysteriously so, since she had never publicized her psychic abilities and
was a virtual stranger to Hong Kong. Nevertheless,
she obliged in doing these readings, and the resultant word-of-mouth advertising
soon brought her clients in droves. She
has never looked back. It was also
during her five year stay in Hong Kong that Martin began honing her psychic
diagnostic skills, and, in the process, learned that she was being assisted in
her work by the spirit of the famed early 20th-century psychic Edgar Cayce
(1877-1945
Annette,
along with her family, traveled the world a few more years before finally
relocating to northern California in 1975.
There she continued her psychic consulting work and drew the attention of
noted psychiatrist Dr. Gerald Jampolsky, founder of the Center for Attitudinal
Healing located in Tiburon. Jampolsky was highly interested in her psychic
diagnostic abilities and tested her before a group of observant physicians in
December of that year. With cameras
rolling, Martin proceeded to accurately diagnose not only the physical and emotional states
of some of Jampolsky's patients, but also the cause of their medical conditions.
Jampolsky was so impressed he made the three hours of footage into a
documentary film - one he subsequently showed to medical conferences around the
country-and ended up working with Martin for five years.
Martin's psychic diagnostic abilities were also featured (along with
those of noted psychic Paul Solomon) in a subsequent documentary film called Altered
States of Consciousness produced by the well-known independent film company
Hartley Productions. Martin has
continued her psychic diagnosis work with physicians and psychiatrists to this
day and has been recognized as having a 90 percent accuracy rate.
It
was also in 1975, shortly after her move back to California, that Martin first
became known for her psychic detection skills.
A vision she received during a meditation session one day that year-it
was of a corpse, along with the name of a street sign-prompted her to go to the
sheriff 's office in Marin County, California.
There she met and explained her vision to Detective Sergeant
Richard Keaton. After a few minutes
of discussion, it was apparent that she had psychically picked up on a recent
murder case in that area. Five
hours of subsequent questioning by Keaton enabled Martin to supply further
details about the case. The
murderer was later caught in the exact area that Martin had described, and
Keaton was impressed enough to not only consult Martin on future cases over the
years, but to act as a liaison for her with other law enforcement agencies.
She has worked primarily on murder investigations and child abduction
cases during recent years, and has assisted numerous law enforcement agencies
throughout the nation, including the F.B.I.
A unique aspect of Martin's psychic detective work is her ability to
"penetrate" a crime by going into a trance and then reliving it.
In a murder case, for example, she will enter the killer's mind for a few
terrifying seconds, and will actually "become" the killer.
Likewise,
when she enters the victim's mind, her voice and facial expressions change.
This kind of information can be used to draw a psychological profile,
which has proven useful to police in dozens of past cases.
Martin's
private consulting work has increased over the years, and it has come to
comprise companies as well as individuals.
The companies she has counseled include Hughes Aircraft, Lockheed, and
Sun Microsystems. Other corporate
clients are CEOs at the bigger companies in Silicon Valley.
Combined with her psychic diagnosis and detection work, her position as a
radio psychic and psychic development teacher at her Institute of Intuitive
Research in Campbell, California has kept her very busy.
